TriWest Healthcare Alliance Makes Contribution to the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation
PHOENIX(Sept. 21, 2007) —TriWest Healthcare Alliance has contributed $5,000 to the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation, the organization’s largest provider hospital on Whidbey Island, Wash.
"Whidbey General Hospital is a valuable partner in caring for the deserving men and women in uniform and their families within the TRICARE program, said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr. "We are delighted to support this event which raises awareness and funds to enhance the health care provided to the entire community.
The funds will benefit the hospital’s sixth annual Tour de Whidbey bike race, which raises money for the Whidbey General Hospital Foundation. Among the services supported by the Foundation are the Bone Marrow Donor Program, Critical Care Unit, Rehabilitation Services and Tobacco Prevention Program.
Tour de Whidbey will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Greenback Farm. Registration fees range from $35 to $70 for military, depending on which mile route is chosen. Participants in the non-competitive bike race can ride 25, 40, 50 or 100 mile routes traversing over varied terrain and rural roads spanning the length of Whidbey Island.
