TriWest Salutes Service Members of the Year
PHOENIX (July 12, 2007) — TriWest Healthcare Alliance, proud presenting sponsor of the 2007 Military Times Service Members of the Year Awards, saluted five individuals from the five Service branches at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. today.
TriWest representatives attended along with program hosts Arizona Senator John McCain, Hawaii Senator Daniel K. Inouye, and Mississippi Representative Gene Taylor, at 5 p.m. at the Cannon House Office Building, Caucus Room 345, in Washington D.C.
The honored service members are:
- Captain Scott M. Smiley, HQ, US Army Accessions Command Fort Monroe, Virginia (Army)
- SSGT Matthew P. Patnaude, 314 Civil Engineer Sq (EOD Opn) Little Rock AFB, Arkansas (Air Force)
- Major Theodore L. Wong, HQ Co CO-23d Marine Regt, USMCR, San Bruno, California (Marine Corps)
- HS3 Anjelica R. Hopkins-Slayton, USCGC-DALLAS (WHEC-716), Charleston, South Carolina (Coast Guard)
- SH1 Angela M. Crawford, USS-MONTEREY CG-61, Norfolk, Virginia (Navy)
"Each of you represents the best of the best among those who wear the uniform of the United States and, frankly, in my opinion, all citizens," said TriWest President and CEO David J. McIntyre, Jr., who attended the awards presentation.
The honorees were recognized for their professionalism, concern for fellow service members, and commitment to community service, as well as being recognized as "everyday heroes."
