Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Companion Guides Now Available
Two new EDI companion guides are now available in the "Your EDI Connection" section of www.triwest.com:
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requires that all health insurance payers in the United States comply with the EDI standards for health care as established by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The ANSI X12N 837 implementation guides have been established as the standard for compliance for claim transactions.
These guides serve only as a companion document to the HIPAA ANSI X12N 837 Professional, Institutional, and Dental implementation guides. The information describes specific requirements to be used for processing data in the TRICARE processing system of Wisconsin Physicians Service (WPS).
