Prior Authorization List Updated

We have updated the supporting Prior Authorization List (PAL) spreadsheets effective Jan. 1, 2008. All services provided by TRICARE civilian providers that are listed on the PAL must be reviewed for medical necessity and require prior authorization for all TRICARE programs administered by TriWest.

As of February 1, 2008, we will eliminate the individual lists of codes by category and will only have a comprehensive list of codes. This change will make your online searches even easier. You won't need to be concerned about what category a service may fall under – just use the comprehensive view to search for everything. 

Remember, one of the many benefits to providers who register to receive secured access to Triwest.com is the ability to check the status of referrals and authorization status online.

Go to www.triwest.com and select the provider option to review the codes which require authorization.
