In honor of National Doctors’ Day on March 30 and thanks to the appreciation shown by beneficiaries for their TRICARE doctor, TriWest celebrates with you the 130,000-strong network providers and physicians serving those who serve.As Service members deploy or return home, doctors provide unwavering commitment every day to care for the military families that need and deserve only the best attention for their health. While loved ones are distant, soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines can remain focused on the job at hand while resting assured TRICARE providers stand ready to keep their families in good health.
National Doctors’ Day is a great opportunity to thank and show appreciation to the men and women dedicated to caring for others. National Doctors’ Day marks the anniversary of Dr. Crawford Long’s first use of general anesthesia in surgery, when he used ether to remove a tumor on a patient’s neck on March 30, 1842.Following overwhelming approval by the House and Senate, then-President George H.W. Bush signed a resolution designating March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
The first National Doctors’ Day was celebrated in 1991.
